Caribbean Beach Ranked No. 1 in the World

Caribbean Beach Ranked No. 1 in the World

OCTOBER 25,

2024

The search for the best beaches is something that has motivated people from all over the world throughout time. For years, the professionals at The World's 50 Best Beaches have annually compiled a list of the world's best beaches, with an exhaustive selection process involving experienced travel professionals from different countries to vote. For 2024, after much hard work, the team has named Trunk Bay in St. John as the number one beach in the world.

Why is Trunk Bay the best beach in the world?

Trunk Bay is considered a true paradise on Earth in the Caribbean. Its visitors have praised its many aspects, from its crystal-clear waters that resemble swimming pools in their intense calm to its soft sands. But it also has a privileged location, since it is within the imposing Virgin Islands National Park. It is a designated protected area, which allows it to be free of pollution and annoying noises from commercial activity and large buildings. Thus, visitors can enjoy the local wildlife and stunning vegetation undisturbed, feeling in full connection with nature.

But that's not all, in addition, this beach is protected from the strong winds that do reach other Caribbean beaches, so it is a quiet area for swimming and maintains pleasant temperatures. At the same time, it has a self-guided snorkeling trail, which allows the most curious and adventurous visitors to get into the water and let themselves be carried away by the current in peace to see the beautiful corals of the area and the marine fauna that inhabits there, while you can read underwater signs strategically placed along the way to learn everything you need to know about the area.

The History and Evolution of Caribbean Cocktails

The word “cocktail” first appeared in written form in 1806, in the New York periodical The Balance and Columbian Repository, in order to answer the question of a reader who inquired about the meaning of the word. There, the writer explained that a cocktail was a stimulating liquor composed of several types of spirits, water, sugar and bitters. He considered it as a drink capable of preparing people for anything and as an alarm clock for the mind.
